Step 1: Are you still covered?
LG's standard warranty on most home appliances covers parts and labor for a limited period from purchase (commonly 1 year). Check your receipt date and the warranty card or LG's website for your model. If you are inside that window, call LG first.
Step 2: Is the failed part on extended coverage?
LG has offered longer coverage on certain components — for example the linear / inverter linear compressor on many refrigerators and the direct-drive motor on many washers. This extended coverage is often parts only: LG supplies the part, but labor is not included after the standard period. Terms vary by model and purchase date, so check yours.
Step 3: Out of warranty — who should fix it?
An independent company that only repairs LG offers:
- Speed — often same-day or next-day.
- Parts on the truck for the most common LG failures.
- Sealed-system work at home with EPA 608 certified technicians.
- Upfront pricing — $75 service call, credited toward the repair.
We are not affiliated with LG Electronics. We do not perform LG warranty service, and we will never charge you for something LG would cover — if we think your repair may be covered, we will tell you.
Extended warranties from retailers
Store and third-party protection plans have their own rules and service networks. Call the plan administrator first; if they allow independent repair or reimbursement, we can provide an itemized invoice.
