LG dishwasher not drying dishes

Wet dishes from an LG dishwasher are most often caused by an empty rinse aid dispenser or a low rinse aid setting. Plastics never dry fully in any dishwasher. If rinse aid is full and dishes are still soaked, the heater (HE), the heated-dry fan (F31) or the Auto Open Dry door motor (F37) on some models may have failed.

Safe checks

  1. Fill the rinse aid and set it to 3–4 (LG ships at 2).
  2. Choose Extra Dry or High Temp for loaded racks.
  3. Unload the bottom rack first so water from the top rack does not drip onto it.
  4. Crack the door after the cycle if your model does not open automatically.

When to call

HE, F31, F35 or F37 codes, or no heat at all at the end of the cycle. See LG dishwasher repair.
