Electric LG dryers
- Breaker. Electric dryers need both legs of a 240 V double breaker. With one leg tripped the drum turns but there is no heat, and some models show tE3. Switch the breaker fully off, then on.
- Thermal fuse. A one-time safety fuse that blows when the dryer overheats — almost always because of a clogged vent. Replace it and clean the vent.
- Heating element. The coil breaks with age.
- High-limit thermostat / thermistor. Can open or read wrong; tE codes.
Gas LG dryers
- Gas valve behind the dryer must be open (handle in line with the pipe).
- Igniter. Should glow bright orange within about 30–60 seconds. No glow = igniter or circuit.
- Gas valve coils. Igniter glows, then goes out without the flame lighting = weak coils. Very common.
- If you smell gas, turn the valve off, leave and call Southwest Gas.
Safe checks
- Clean the lint filter and run a timed dry with the vent disconnected at the back for 5 minutes — warm air should blow out.
- Check the breaker (electric) or gas valve (gas).
- Look for d80–d95 on the display.
When to call
No heat with good power or gas supply. See LG dryer repair.

Questions
Why did my LG dryer stop heating after I cleaned it?
If you moved the dryer, the vent may be crushed behind it, or the plug may not be fully seated. For electric models, check that both halves of the breaker are on.
What does tE3 mean on an LG dryer?
The heater is not working — a thermostat tripped from overheating or the supply voltage is wrong. Check the breaker and vent first.
