Safe checks
- Turn all knobs off. Let everything cool.
- Remove the grate, cap and burner head. Dry them completely (a spill or wash leaves water in the ports — let them air-dry or warm them in the oven on low).
- Clear clogged ports with a straight pin — not a toothpick, which can break off.
- Wipe the white ceramic igniter electrode clean.
- Reassemble: the cap must sit perfectly flat and centered.
Constant clicking with the knobs off
Liquid has reached a spark switch behind a knob, or a switch has failed. Let the range dry for 24 hours with the power off. If it still clicks, the switch or spark module needs replacement.
When to call
Clicking with no spark, a burner that still will not light after cleaning, or constant clicking after drying. If you smell gas, turn off the gas supply and call Southwest Gas first. See LG range repair.
