Find the leak
| Where | Likely source |
|---|---|
| Front, below the door | Door boot torn or holding debris |
| Front, bottom corner | Drain pump filter cap or drain tube cap loose |
| Back of the washer | Fill hoses at the faucet or the washer; drain hose |
| Under the center | Internal hose, pump, tub seal |
| Only during the wash, with suds visible | Oversudsing |
Safe checks
- Wipe the door boot and look for tears, especially at the bottom fold. Remove hair and debris.
- Make sure the drain pump filter cap and drain tube cap are tight.
- Check fill hose connections and replace the rubber washers if they are hard or cracked. Replace hoses older than 5 years.
- Use HE detergent only, at or below the line. In Las Vegas hard water many people overdose.
- Run Tub Clean.
When to call
Water under the center of the washer, a torn door boot, or leaks that continue with the hoses dry. See front load washer repair.
Questions
Why is my LG front load washer leaking from the bottom?
Most often the drain pump filter cap is loose after cleaning, or water is escaping from a torn door boot and running down inside the front panel.
Can too much detergent make an LG washer leak?
Yes. Excess suds can push out of the door seal and the dispenser. LG washers may show SUD when they detect too many suds.
