LG WashTower dryer not drying

When the dryer half of an LG WashTower takes too long or stays cold, the most common cause is a restricted exhaust vent (d80–d95), often in long closet-to-roof runs. Next come a blown thermal fuse or failed heating element (electric) and a weak igniter or gas valve coils (gas). Typical repair: $180 to $350.

Start with the vent

WashTowers often vent through 15–35 feet of duct to the roof. Disconnect the duct at the back and run the dryer: if it now dries fast, the vent is the problem. Clean it all the way to the outside hood. Details: LG dryer taking too long.

Electric vs. gas

  • Electric: check both halves of the 240 V breaker. Then the thermal fuse, element and high-limit — see LG dryer not heating.
  • Gas: make sure the gas valve is on. A glowing igniter that never lights the flame usually means weak gas valve coils.

When to call

No heat after the vent and breaker are confirmed good, or tE codes. See LG WashTower repair.
